White Sox Topple Blue Jays, 5-3
|
The Chicago White Sox stopped the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-3, at U.S. Cellular Field. The White Sox got a big game from Jack Christie, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Zach Ault recorded his 20th save for Chicago. Chicago improves to 60-29 with the win. They lead their division by 9 games.
The Blue Jays had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the White Sox going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Joseph Disepolo came to the plate. Disepolo hit a 3-run home run on a 1-2 slider from Toronto hurler Tony Rios. It was Disepolo's 28th home run of the year.
"This is truly a great team to play with," Disepolo said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
