Yankees Clip Red Sox, 6-5
|
The New York Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox, 6-5, at Yankee Stadium. New York third baseman Bartholomeu Chambino had an outstanding performance. He was 4-4 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Their 50-44 record puts the Yankees second in the American League East Division.
The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with New York trailing 5-4, Shiro Suehiro jumped on a first pitch fastball from Guadalupe Vasguez for a 2-run home run, sending the Yankees to a walk-off win.
"This place was electric at the end," Suehiro said.
