Cubs Pick Up 4-2 Road Win Over Detroit
|
The Chicago Cubs knocked off the Detroit Tigers, 4-2, at Comerica Park. Steve Bartman Jr. was a big reason Chicago won. The second baseman was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Jose Carrillo picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 6-9. Chicago leads the National League Central Division by 5 games.
With one out in the top of the third, Efrain Vargas barreled up a fastball from Adrian Hamilton. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Cubs in front, 3-0.
