Reds Down Braves, 6-2
|
The Reds grabbed a win, 6-2, at Turner Field, overcoming a fine effort from Atlanta pitcher Kevin Ovens-Toots. Ovens-Toots went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Ryan Terlizzi, now 5-3, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. With the win, Cincinnati has a record of 41-52. Atlanta falls to 53-41.
Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Chris Grunwald to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Reds on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"There's no quit in this team," said Reds manager Jimmy Silveira II.
