Reds Lose to Braves, 5-3
|
The 5-3 Atlanta win over Cincinnati was due in large part to Ike Trout. The Braves first baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Andy Kiefer, credited with the save, is now 3 for 4 in save opportunities. The triumph puts Atlanta at 54-41 for the season.
Trout had a key at-bat for Atlanta early in the game. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 19th home run of the season and gave Atlanta an early 3-0 lead.
"I'm proud to wear a Atlanta jersey," Trout told the Atlanta Times. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
