7-4 Win Takes Mets to 50-41
|
The New York Mets took Washington pitcher Oleg Bahanov's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Citi Field. The final score had New York getting past the Nationals, 7-4. Bahanov went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 6. With the win, New York upped its record to 50-41.
In the bottom of the seventh, New York third baseman Drtian Thaqi had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Thaqi stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 6-4, New York. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Thaqi said in reaction to the win.
