Big Day for Contreras as Rangers Down Twins, 10-7
|
Behind a solid performance from center fielder Rodolfo Contreras, the Texas Rangers defeated the Minnesota Twins, 10-7. Contreras was 2-2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Rangers. Texas reliever Kyle Curve picked up the win, upping his record to 6-0. Josh Langguth absorbed the loss. Gavin Nelson was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Butch Kaiser, the Texas designated hitter, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the score 8-7, Rangers. For the game, Kaiser was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
