Big Day for Bellman in 5-2 Mets Win
|
The New York Mets downed the Boston Red Sox, 5-2. The hitting star was third baseman Kevin Bellman. Bellman was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Mets. The triumph puts New York at 52-46 for the season.
Bellman made an early impact for New York when he stroked his 11th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came in the top of the third, put the Mets on top, 4-0.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Bellman. "I think we showed that here."
