Orioles Drop Twins, 4-3
|
The Baltimore Orioles dealt the Minnesota Twins a 4-3 loss at Target Field. Jason Hayes was the star on offense. He went 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The Orioles now have a mark of 47-55.
Baltimore used a timely hit from Rudo Garciaparra to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Orioles ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Minnesota manager Patrick Slack. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
