Phillies Drop Braves, 6-2
|
Behind an impressive start by Robby Benchio, Philadelphia beat Atlanta, 6-2. Philadelphia is now 48-58, while Atlanta is 59-48.
Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Jean-François Bernard to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Phillies on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Bernard said after the game.
