Giants Sneak By Cardinals, 4-3
|
San Francisco Giants starter Keith Kidd was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-3. Kidd, now 9-6, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. Andrew Kindig picked up the save for San Francisco, his 23rd of the year.
John Blair, the 34-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Blair contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put San Francisco up, 4-3.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said San Francisco manager Jobo Foster.
The win elevated the Giants to 60-48.
