Atlanta Topples Miami, 9-3
|
Atlanta pitcher Nicolas Coppola II did his part in helping his team beat the Miami Marlins, 9-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Atlanta has a record of 67-55, placing them first in the National League East Division.
Atlanta used the timely hitting of Terry Tuckfard to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Braves ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We maximized our offense today," said Atlanta skipper Andres Wray II. "That makes everyone's life easier."
