Mets Roll Over Nationals, 9-2
|
Starting pitcher Apostolos Tsatsos was a major factor in the 9-2 New York Mets triumph over the Washington Nationals. In 7.1 innings, Tsatsos surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. At 59-63, the Mets find themselves in second place in the National League East Division.
The result might have been different for New York, had it not been for Roberto Magne, the 27-year old second baseman . Magne stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put New York up, 3-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Tsatsos.
