Expos Thrash White Sox, 13-2
|
The Montreal Expos beat the Chicago White Sox, 13-2, at Quebecor Stadium. The win was due in part to right fielder John Ham, who was 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jonathan Jackson was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. Montreal is second in the American League East Division with a record of 71-54.
With Montreal leading 3-0 in the bottom of the second, Ham hit a sinker from Ricky Salas for a 3-run home run. It was his 21st home run of the season and put the Expos ahead, 6-0.
"Things went our way," said Ham.
