Minnesota Wins, 3-2, in Extra Innings
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Progressive Field.
The Minnesota Twins had to overcome a fine effort from Cleveland pitcher Risto Pandev to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Progressive Field. Pandev went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Minnesota reliever Josh Langguth was the winner. His record is now 3-4. The losing pitcher was Juan Flores. Matt Walton earned save number 1 this season.
Minnesota used the timely hitting of Austin Mickelson to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Twins ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Minnesota field general Jorge G Twins.
Minnesota has now won 3 straight, while the Guardians have lost 3 in a row.
