Philadelphia Tags Washington with 5-2 Defeat
|
The Philadelphia Phillies picked up a win at Nationals Park, taking down the Washington Nationals, 5-2. Starting pitcher Scott Bernstein was a big reason why. At 62-72, the Phillies find themselves in third place in the National League East Division.
Ryan Trombley, the 28-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Trombley contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Philadelphia up, 1-0.
"I liked his command," said Philadelphia manager Paul Husch. "Scott was throwing strikes."
