Markus has 3 hits tonight to Power Royals Offense
|
Kansas City beat California at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to third baseman Mikolas Markus. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. John Hall, the winning pitcher, improved to 6-6. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 1. Getting the save was Bryan Boykin, his 6th.
Markus had a timely hit for Kansas City in the top of the sixth. With California trailing 4-2, he turned a full count fastball into a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 6-4, Kansas City.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Kansas City manager Chris Stephan.
Kansas City now has a 3-game win streak.
