Cardinals Win Thriller, 1-0
|
The St. Louis Cardinals topped the Milwaukee Brewers, 1-0, in National League action at Busch Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of St. Louis pitcher Antonio Lacayo. Parker Warr picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Jake Koehler was tagged with the loss. St. Louis's record now stands at 68-78, placing them third in the National League Central Division.
The Cardinals procured the win, in large part because of right fielder Jordan Diaz. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Lacayo.
