Nationals Deal Giants 7-5 Defeat
|
The Washington Nationals topped the San Francisco Giants, 7-5, in National League action at AT&T Park. The standout performance belonged to Washington pitcher and La Puente, California, native Jaden Asante. Travis Plesz recorded his 16th save for Washington. The second-place Giants have lost 4 straight games.
Jesse Basich, the slick-fielding third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Basich contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Washington up, 6-1.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Basich.
