Pittsburgh Bats Go Silent in 2-0 Loss
|
Milwaukee got a first-rate effort from pitcher Lewis Thorpe Jr., who frustrated Pittsburgh hitters en route to a 2-0 Brewers triumph at PNC Park. Thorpe Jr. went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2. His record improves to 9-10. The win puts the Brewers at 71-86, while the Pirates drop to 83-74.
Noah Stanley, the 29-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Stanley contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Milwaukee up, 2-0.
"It's good to win," Thorpe Jr. told the Milwaukee Daily. "I like to have fun doing it."
