The Brewers grabbed a win, 3-2, at Progressive Field, overcoming a fine effort from Cleveland pitcher Bruce Poff. Poff went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Chitoji Takemoto, the winner, goes to 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts over 8 innings. Milwaukee is now 1-2.
Milwaukee needed the clutch hitting of Bobby Muniz to notch the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Brewers on top, 3-2. For the game, Muniz had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
