Royals Get One-Run Win at Milwaukee
|
Milwaukee got a terrific game from catcher Bobby Muniz. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Kansas City, 6-5. Muniz went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. John Brooks earned the win for Kansas City. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. The save was credited to Asa Hahn, his 2nd.
Kansas City used the clutch hitting of Adam Martin to snag the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Royals ahead, 6-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Martin. "But I like how we're playing right now."
With the loss, Milwaukee is 1-3.
