White Sox Outmuscle Cleveland, 10-8
|
With shortstop Joseph Disepolo leading the charge, the Chicago White Sox defeated the Cleveland Guardians, 10-8, at Progressive Field. Disepolo, who finished 5th in the AL in on-base percentage with .427 in 2045, was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Chicago pitcher Ryan Columbo got the win. He's now 1-0. Joe Zeiset was tagged with the loss. Matt McAtee closed the game out for Chicago, earning his 1st save.
Chicago relied on the hitting of Jack Christie to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the White Sox on top, 8-5. For the game, Christie had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Chicago manager Jake Turnbull.
Chicago is now 3-2.
