Grape K's 10 En Route to 2-0 Reds Win
|
Eddie Grape never let the Pirates get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Reds to a win, 2-0. The save went to Ryan Terlizzi, number 3 for him. Cincinnati is now 3-5.
Grape, who dominated for Cincinnati, earned the victory to move to 2-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 2 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 10. Pittsburgh batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
Afterward, Reds manager Jimmy Silveira II was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
