Braves Upend Nationals, 3-1
|
Atlanta starter Nolan Stefanski put a stranglehold on the Washington offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Braves to a 3-1 win. With the win, Atlanta climbs to 2-6.
Atlanta relied on the hitting of Terry Tuckfard to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Braves on top, 2-1. For the game, Tuckfard had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Atlanta manager Andres Wray II said.
