Jimmy Groseclose made an impact in the 10-3 Miami win over New York. Groseclose, who is tied for 7th in the NL in home runs with 6, was 3-5 with 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Oscar Banda got the win, improving to 4-1. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 4. With the win, Miami climbs to 10-12.
Making an impact for the home team was Eric Bailey. In the bottom of the first, the 22-year old right fielder had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 3-1, Marlins.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Groseclose.
