The San Francisco Giants bested the Pittsburgh Pirates, 13-5, at AT&T Park. John Creel was one of the standouts. He went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Tyler Stancil, now 2-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. The Giants, now 17-6, have played inspired baseball.
San Francisco took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Nick Rigden stroked a 2-run single to make it 7-5, Giants.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Creel said.
