Budgell Leads Chicago to 3-1 Win
|
Starting pitcher Randy Budgell was a major factor in the 3-1 Chicago Cubs triumph over the Miami Marlins. Eric Oakes was credited with the save for Chicago, his 3rd of the season. The win puts Chicago at 14-10.
Budgell, the winner, is now 3-1 after putting the clamps on the Miami offense. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while collecting 8 Ks.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Miami skipper Mike Scott, "and it cost us."
