7 Straight Wins for Giants
|
San Francisco third baseman Tyler Mapes played a vital role in his team's 7-2 triumph over Los Angeles. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for San Francisco. Ted Mosley, the winner, improved to 3-0. He held Los Angeles to 1 run on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Andrew Kindig earned the save, his 6th, for the Giants.
With San Francisco leading 4-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Mapes hit a forkball from Joon-ho Rhee for a bases-clearing double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Giants ahead, 7-1.
"I like the roll we're on right now," said Mapes after the game.
Early on, the Giants, at 19-6, have played an impressive brand of baseball.
