Giants Need Extra Frames to Get Past Braves
|
The San Francisco Giants took Atlanta pitcher Jeremy Kasten's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Turner Field. The final score had San Francisco getting past the Braves, 6-5. Kasten went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 7. The Giants, now 21-6, have been on a roll in the early going.
San Francisco used the clutch hitting of Nick Rigden to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Giants ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Rigden.
