Blue Jays Pick Up 6-2 Win
|
Starting pitcher Matt Altieri was a major factor in the 6-2 Toronto Blue Jays triumph over the Montreal Expos. Altieri, now 5-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Toronto is now 21-6.
Donny Burnside hit a 2-run triple off Jonathan Jackson in the bottom of the first, which put the Blue Jays in front, 2-0. In addition to the triple, Burnside had 1 single and 2 walks, while going 2 for 2.
"Nervous? No," said Burnside. "It was my time to shine."
