League Punishes Pair for Fighting
Wednesday, September 25th , 2047
After an intense confrontation, both the Mariners Harutomi Matsubara and the Astros Mat Pear were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Seattle-Houston game. Harutomi Matsubara will miss 4 games, while Mat Pear was suspended for 6 games.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Harutomi Matsubara commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
So far this season Matsubara has put up a .248 batting average with 122 hits, 18 home runs and 69 RBIs.
This season Pear has 6 wins and 15 losses and a 4.70 ERA.
