Braves Heading to World Series
Saturday, October 26th , 2047
The Atlanta Braves didn't hold back their excitement after beating the San Diego Padres in the League Championship Series tonight.
Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 5-1 win moving the club on to the World Series, clinching a 4-2 series win in front of the Turner Field crowd.
"This isn't the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a World Series, so it's an important step," said Jared Speck as he took a break from celebrating. "Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on."
Speck was named series MVP, as he hit .556 with a .545 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.
On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Padres sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching Atlanta celebrate.
The Atlanta Braves will play against the Montreal Expos in the next round. Montreal won their series against the Chicago White Sox 4 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
