Kyle Curve of the Texas Rangers said he never set out to win the American League Reliever of the Year this season, but he'll certainly take it.

"2047 was a pretty good year for me, that much is obvious," he said. "This is icing on the cake."

The 29-year-old out of Gilroy, California fashioned a 1.46 ERA this season over 98.1 innings of work. He made 78 relief appearances and had 9 saves, 128 strikeouts, 19 walks and a record of 8 wins and 1 loss.

He received 29 first place votes out of a possible 30. Hoof Harted of the Toronto Blue Jays finished second in voting, while Zach Ault of the Chicago White Sox finished third with 1 first place vote.
