Toronto Pitcher Gets Most Valuable Player Award
Friday, November 22nd , 2047
With stellar statistics and an uncanny ability to lead his team to victory, many around Major League Baseball felt Matt Altieri was a shoo-in to be named most valuable player - except for the player himself.

"There's lots of great players in the league, I'm not so sure I deserve to be named among the best," he said.

But Altieri has in fact been named the 2047 American League Most Valuable Player Award winner.

The Toronto Blue Jays ace put up an impressive year, with a 15-9 record. In 32 starts he piled up 213 innings, had 248 strikeouts with 57 walks and a 3.85 ERA. Altieri held opposing hitters to a .220 batting average and compiled a 5.7 WAR along the way.

He received 29 first place votes out of a possible 30. Mike Meyerhoff of the Kansas City Royals finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Joseph Disepolo of the Chicago White Sox finished third.
