Detroit Trades Sato for Boston's Friess
Friday, November 22nd , 2047
It took some time to iron out the details, but the Tigers and Red Sox have agreed to a swap. Boston will get 30-year old LHP Momosuke Sato with Detroit receiving 23-year old minor league 2B Dan Friess in return. A source close to the trade talks said the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened early today and eventually settled on this deal.

Detroit will retain a portion of Sato's remaining contract.

In his lifetime, the 30-year-old Sato has won 95 and lost 109, piling up 1895 strikeouts with a 5.36 ERA. Opponents have hit .253 against him.

As far as career numbers Friess has compiled a .278 batting average and collected 72 hits, 1 home run and 32 RBIs.
