Nobles Sharp, Whitewashes Knights, 5-0
|
The Charlotte Knights struggled at the plate today against Bisons hurler Art Nobles, who shackled them on 4 hits while hurling a complete game 5-0 shutout.
"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Knights skipper Javon Rigsby in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."
Nobles finished the game with 1 strikeout and 1 walk in an excellent mound performance.
"He pitched real well," Buffalo manager Andrew Yerzy said. "Art made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."
This year Nobles has registered 5 wins and no losses in 8 starts with a 2.03 ERA while registering 34 strikeouts and 10 walks in 57.2 innings.
