Bisons Sweep Memphis
Thursday, October 29th , 2048
It was a glorious moment for Bisons fans today as Buffalo claimed the 2048 World Series title with a 5-2 victory at Coca-Cola Field.
Jubilant Buffalo players swamped each other on the diamond after completing a dominant sweep of the Memphis Redbirds, as chants of "Thank you, Bisons" reverberated all around the ballpark.
In the losing dugout, sadness reigned. Redbirds skipper Andy Flaherty told reporters it was "hard to describe" the feeling of losing in the World Series.
"Your heart is heavy, you are hurting -- it's a very difficult time," he said. "And to be swept is embarrassing. You just want to forget it ever happened."
For the Buffalo Bisons, it was a season to remember. They finished the regular season with a record of 101-52, good enough for first place in the American League East Division. Then they topped it off by winning the World Series 4-0.
