Players Suspended in Indians-Marlins Donnybrook
Thursday, January 16th , 2048
If there wasn't a history between Chris Fitzgerald of Cleveland (WIN) and Pharamond Lestrange of Miami (WIN), then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Fitzgerald said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
Fitzgerald is hitting at a .310 mark this season. His stats show 4 home runs, 14 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has played 34 games for the Indians.
This year Lestrange has recorded a 3-3 mark. In 9 starts he has fanned 58 batters in 52 innings with a 4.33 ERA.
