MacLeod Whacks 3 out of the Park for San Diego (WIN)
Monday, December 14th , 2048
Mike MacLeod went on an explosive hitting spree against the Baltimore (WIN) Orioles at Peoria Sports Complex today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the San Diego (WIN) Padres to the 10-1 win.
The third baseman finished 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 6 RBI.
"It was just one of those days," MacLeod said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball."
Baltimore (WIN) skipper Jake Scudder said MacLeod was "locked-in."
"We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him."
Mike MacLeod hit a two-run home run off Angel Cerros in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Brent Widder in the 5th, walked in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Chris Anderson in the 8th.
For the year MacLeod is batting .310 with 9 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 7 times and driven in 11.
