Gonzalez Swats 3 HR Against Minnesota (WIN)
Friday, December 25th , 2048
Dave Gonzalez brutalized the Minnesota (WIN) Twins pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 4-1 victory at Hammond Stadium. The Milwaukee (WIN) Brewers first baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 3-for-3 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Too much Dave Gonzalez today," Twins manager Tom Bartlett said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Dave Gonzalez hit a two-run home run off Mike Moon in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Mike Moon in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Matt Springer in the 8th.
This year Gonzalez has hit at a .270 clip with 24 hits, 8 home runs, 16 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
