Giants No Match for Stirnweiss, Pirates in 11-0 Thumping Sunday, December 29th , 2047 It wasn't easy but Stan Stirnweiss made it look that way. Stirnweiss silenced the San Francisco (WIN) Giants, 11-0, in a Pittsburgh (WIN) Pirates triumph at Pirate City Complex today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Stirnweiss said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up no walks and 5 hits. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." Stirnweiss has posted a 3-2 record for the year with a 1.73 ERA. Teams are hitting .229 against him and he has rung up 66 strikeouts in 41.2 innings. |
