Johnson Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
Sunday, September 27th , 2048
5 times is the charm -- at least for Logan Johnson.
The University of Toronto Marlies catcher tore up the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Tar Heels to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at UFCU Disch-Falk Field today. The offensive onslaught from Johnson powered the Marlies to a 21-1 win.
"Johnson was a tough out today," University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill manager Dansby Swanson said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
Logan Johnson hit a two-run home run off Francisco Guerra in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Bobby Franco in the 3rd, walked in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Ted Hurley in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
Johnson is hitting .303 this season with 9 home runs, 33 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has 30 hits in 99 at-bats.
