Abascal Booms 3 Homers Wednesday, October 14th , 2048 Today was a special one for Tony Abascal of the Ohio State University Buckeyes as he slammed three home runs in the 11-0 win over the University of Illinois Fighting Illini. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Ohio State University left fielder collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 6, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Bill Davis Stadium. Tony Abascal hit a two-run home run off Roger Whitaker in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, struck out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Ross Ledford in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Ross Ledford in the 8th. To date, Abascal has collected 65 hits for a .339 average. He has posted 17 home runs, scored 42 runs and driven in 51 runs. |
