Velazquez's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games

The Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions stopped the Clemson University Tigers today 4-1 and Francisco Velazquez collected a base hit yet again. The Pennsylvania State University second baseman finished with 1 hit to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20.
"I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Velazquez told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games." Francisco Velazquez doubled in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th and grounded out in the 7th.
In 96 games this season Velazquez has compiled a .358 batting average with 148 hits and 23 home runs. He has also scored 105 times and knocked in 89 runs.
