University of South Carolina's Mihas Selected Outstanding Rookie Sunday, February 23rd , 2048 It was a lot of headlines and highlights for University of South Carolina first baseman Keith Mihas in his first season in the Dvision 1. It was announced today that the 17-year-old was voted the top newcomer and had earned the Rookie of the Year Award. Keith Mihas collected 156 hits, 54 home runs, 124 RBIs, 42 walks and 95 runs scored. He hit .319 and had a .377 on-base percentage. He received 18 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Carlton Stannard of the Fresno State University Bulldogs finished second in voting, while Phil Hanley of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks finished third.
