Bias on Fire: 5-for-6 for Connecticut
Saturday, July 2nd , 2050
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Isaiah Bias, it came around today.
The 22-year-old catcher scattered hits all over Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium to pace the Connecticut Tigers to a 17-0 victory over the Aberdeen Ironbirds.
Aberdeen skipper Phil Hall told reporters in the press room that "Bias deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Bias hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Isaiah Bias singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off J.J. Maetzold in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Adam Savage in the 8th.
This year Bias has hit 7 home runs and posted a .298 batting average.
