3-Game Suspension for White Sox Heagle
Saturday, August 6th , 2050
Bobby Heagle was incensed today after he was suspended by the commissioner's office for 3 games following a wild argument at the Chicago (NYP)-Vermont game. The league cited the White Sox second baseman for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct," in the notification letter. Heagle strongly objected to a questionable call by the home plate umpire and was ejected.
"Ejection? Maybe. But not suspension. It's ludicrous is what it is. It's totally uncalled for. I have no idea why. You have to ask the people in the league office that wear the coats and ties and don't get on the field. I didn't cause the altercation, the umpire did. It was a lousy call."
This year Heagle is hitting .305, produced 41 RBIs and 6 home runs, scored 82 times and gotten on base at a .401 rate.
