Nevarel Skunks Connecticut, 9-0 Sunday, August 7th , 2050 Vancouver Canadians starter Ruben Nevarel really did a number on the Connecticut Tigers today, shutting them out 9-0 on 3 hits in a complete game victory. He issued no walks and had 10 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," said Connecticut manager Andy Garcia. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Nevarel." For the season Nevarel has logged 4 wins and 1 loss and struck out 58 batters in 52 innings while compiling a 2.08 ERA. |
