Ramsey Batters Aberdeen for 5 Hits
Monday, August 8th , 2050
After his 5-hit effort at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium was tarnished by Tri-City's 21-15 loss to the Aberdeen Ironbirds, center fielder Steve Ramsey told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win."

He didn't get the win, but the 19-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Ironbirds.

"His swing is getting there," said ValleyCats skipper Gregory Guerrero after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Steve did that to perfection today and we wasted it."

Steve Ramsey hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Dave Patenaude in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Presently Ramsey is batting .243 with 36 hits and 2 home runs. He has knocked in 15 runs and scored 14 times.
